What to Wear to a Photoshoot

Once you've booked your photoshoot with Glamour Shots, the first question you might ask yourself is, "What do I wear?" Below are a few important things to keep in mind when considering what to wear:

Keep your own taste in fashion. You want your portraits to represent you and your own personal style. Stay true to yourself and wear something that you believe represents you. Bring multiple outfits! What will your portraits be used for? Are you getting portraits taken for a professional headshot, family portraits, or senior pictures? For a professional headshot, you probably want to keep your outfit simple and low-key so it doesn't take away from your facial features while you may want to go with something trendier for a senior portrait.

Opt for timeless clothing. Have you ever cringed while looking at old photos or movies and everyone is wearing bell bottoms with huge hair? When getting portraits taken for something such as a family portrait, you will not want to look back twenty or so years from now and be able to guess the date by the clothing you are wearing. Something that is very "in" now such as Ugg boots or "jeggings" may look silly to you in twenty or so years. Go for timeless and classic clothing, such as denim jeans and plain shirts.
